  1. INGREDIENTS:

  2. 1/4 c. butter

  3. 1 med. onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)

  4. 1 1/2 c. uncooked, regular rice

  5. 1/2 tsp. salt

  6. 1/2 tsp. allspice

  7. 1/2 tsp. turmeric

  8. 1/4 tsp. curry powder

  9. 1/8 tsp. pepper

  10. 3 1/2 c. chicken broth

  11. 1/4 c. blanched, slivered almonds

  12. DIRECTIONS:

  13. 350 degrees. Melt butter in skillet. Add onions and rice. Cook and stir until rice is yellow and onion is tender. Stir in next

  14. 5 seasonings. Pour into greased

  15. 2 quart casserole.

  16. 30 to 40 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Stir in almonds.

  17. 4 chicken bouillon cubes in

  18. 3 1/2 cups boiling water or used canned chicken broth.
