  1. 1 can pinto beans

  2. 1 tsp ancho or chipotle powder (your choice)

  3. 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  4. 1/2 tsp onion powder

  5. 2 cans refried beans (pinto variety)

  6. 1 cup shredded montarrey

  1. Add pintos and spices to a medium saucepan and heat to a simmer. Add refried beans and stir 'til thoroughly dissolved into pintos. Add 3/4 cup cheese to mixture and stir 'til cheese is melted and incorperated into mixture. Remove from heat and spoon into serving bowl(s). Garnish with remaining cheese. Variations: Chorizo y Frijole Dip Omit the spices and instead crumble 1 lb of fresh chorizo into pan and brown. Drain grease and proceed with the recipe from there. Salsa Frijole Dip Replace spices with 1 cup pico de gallo OR 1 cup picante sauce (Pace is best). Queso y Frijole Dip In addition to grated cheese add 1 can Rico's Nacho Cheese Sauce.
