  2. 12 slices bacon strips

  3. 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  4. 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

  5. 1/2 cup molasses , or dark karo syrup

  6. 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce

  1. Cut each onion in half then each half into 6 wedges. Cut bacon strips in half width wise; wrap a piece of the bacon around each onion, wedge and secure with toothpicks. Place in a uncreased 13 x 9 inch dish. Combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well; Pour ½ over onions. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour turning at least once. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade for basting. Drain and discard marinade. Grill appetizers, covered, over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, turning and basting frequently with reserved marinade.
