  3. 1/4 cup 36g / 1 1/3oz Chopped tart apple

  4. 2 teaspoons 10ml Curry powder

  5. 1 Cayenne

  6. 4 cups 640g / 22oz Cooked brown rice

  7. 2 cups 474ml Canned chick peas - drained

  8. 1 tablespoon 15ml Lemon juice Salt - to taste Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste

  1. Recipe Instructions Heat the oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and saute for 3 minutes. Add the apple and saute for 3 more minutes. Add the curry powder and cayenne and coat the apple and the onion. Add the cooked rice and chickpeas. Cook through until the rice and beans are hot. Sprinkle with lemon juice and serve.
