  1. 1 tablespoon 15ml Oil

  2. 2 tablespoons 30ml Onions - finely chopped (medium)

  3. 1/2 lb 227g / 8oz Red lentils

  4. 6 cups 1422ml Beef stock - or chicken stock

  5. 1 teaspoon 5ml Paprika

  6. 1 Bay leaf

  7. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  8. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Pepper

  9. 1 teaspoon 5ml Dried mint

  10. 1 teaspoon 5ml Dried parsley

  1. Recipe Instructions In a large soup pot, saute oil and onions. When onions are soft, add lentils. Stir several minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Simmer until lentils are very soft, about 35 minutes. Soup may be pureed.
