  1. 1 Crust for 9" pie - (single)

  2. Filling

  3. 4 cups 948ml Tart apples - shredded

  4. 2 tablespoons 30ml Lemon juice

  5. 1 cup 146g / 5.1oz Walnuts - chopped

  6. 3/4 cup 120g / 4 1/5oz Brown sugar

  7. 1 Nutmeg

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Honey

  9. Topping

  10. 4 tablespoons 60ml Butter - soft

  11. 3 tablespoons 45ml Flour

  12. 3 tablespoons 45ml Walnuts - chopped

  13. 3 tablespoons 45ml Brown sugar

  1. Prepare crust or use a ready made one. Pre-bake at 375F for about 8 minutes.

  2. Prepare filling. Shred apples (they don't need to be peeled if skin is soft). Mix with lemon juice quickly. Blend together walnuts, brown sugar and nutmeg. Place apples in the prepared shell.

  3. Top with walnut mix. Pour honey evenly over all.

  4. Bake at 375F for about 35 minutes. In the meantime, prepare topping.

  5. With fork, blend together butter, flour, walnuts and sugar until crumbly.

  6. Top pie with crumbled mix. Bake another 10-15 minutes or until apples are soft and topping is light brown.

  7. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
