  2. 2 cups red beans, canned, drained

  3. 2 cups lima beans, canned, drained

  4. 2 cups garbanzo beans, canned, drained

  5. 1 pound beef, ground

  6. 1 large onion, chopped fine

  7. 1 garlic clove, minced

  8. 1/4 cup brown sugar

  9. 2 tablespoons mustard, prepared

  10. 1/2 cup ketchup

  11. 1 teaspoon cumin powder, optional

  12. 1/4 cup red wine

  13. Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. Put drained beans into a 2 1/2-quart casserole. Mix lightly and set aside.

  2. In large skillet cook ground beef, onions and garlic until meat is lightly browned. Stir in remaining ingredients except beans.

  3. Add skillet mixture to beans in casserole. Mix together.

  4. Cover and bake for about an hour at 325 F or simmer the mixture in a crockpot for 3-4 hours.
