  1. 1 pound fresh mushrooms

  2. 1/4 cup butter

  3. 1 1/2 Tablespoons minced chives

  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  5. teaspoon pepper

  6. 1/4 cup catsup

  7. 1 cup light cream

  8. 3 Tablespoons scotch whiskey

  9. 4 slices of toast

  10. 1/3 cup coarsely chopped toasted walnuts

  1. Wipe mushrooms with damp cloth and slice. Melt butter in skillet and add mushrooms and chives. Cook over low heat until mushrooms are browned and tender. Stir in salt, pepper, catsup, cream, and scotch. Heat to serving temperature. Serve on toast, garnishing each portion with chopped walnuts.
