  1. 3 eggs

  2. 1 cup raisins

  3. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  4. 1 cup shortening

  5. 1 cup packed brown sugar

  6. 1 cup white sugar

  7. 2 cups all-purpose flour

  8. 1 teaspoon salt

  9. 2 teaspoons baking soda

  10. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  11. 2 cups quick cooking oats cup chopped walnuts

  1. Beat eggs and combine with raisins and vanilla. Let soak for at least an hour. Cream shortening (I use butter flavored shortening) and sugars together. Sift dry ingredients into sugar mixture. Mix well. Blend in remaining ingredients. Shape into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven 10 -12 minutes. Do not overbake.
