Pumpkin Pie Cake

1 yellow cake mix (works better with the least expensive brands, remove 1 cup for later)

Add to remainder: 1 egg, beaten

Beat with fork until all cake is absorbed. Press into bottom of greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan.

FILLING:

1 lg. can pumpkin

1/2 c. brown sugar

3 eggs

1/4 c. granulated sugar

2/3 c. milk

3 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/8 tsp. cloves

Mix together and spread over cake dough.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. nuts, chopped

1/2 stick butter

350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve chilled with whipped cream topping. (Tastes like a pie, not a cake-and serves more than a pie would.)
