  1. INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS:

  2. 1 yellow cake mix (works better with the least expensive brands, remove 1 cup for later)

  3. Add to remainder: 1 egg, beaten

  4. Beat with fork until all cake is absorbed. Press into bottom of greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan.

  5. FILLING:

  6. 1 lg. can pumpkin

  7. 1/2 c. brown sugar

  8. 3 eggs

  9. 1/4 c. granulated sugar

  10. 2/3 c. milk

  11. 3 tsp. cinnamon

  12. 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

  13. 1/8 tsp. cloves

  14. Mix together and spread over cake dough.

  15. TOPPING:

  16. 1/2 c. nuts, chopped

  17. 1/2 stick butter

  18. 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve chilled with whipped cream topping. (Tastes like a pie, not a cake-and serves more than a pie would.)
