  2. 1 cup long-grain rice One-half teaspoon salt

  3. 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Put 2 cups of water in a medium-size saucepan. Add the rice, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil, cover, and then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook until the water is absorbed, about 15 minutes. Remove from the heat. Presto--perfect rice.
