  1. 1 cup raisins

  2. 1 cup butter, softened

  3. 3/4 cup sugar

  4. 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

  5. 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  7. 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  8. 1 teaspoon salt

  9. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  10. 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

  11. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  1. Place raisins in a bowl. Cover with boiling water; let stand for 5 minutes. Drain well and set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in mayonnaise and vanilla. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips, walnuts and raisins. Drop by level tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: about 7 dozen.
