  2. 6 pounds tomatoes, peeled and cut in halves

  3. 8 cups sugar

  4. 2 lemons, juice and meat (no rind)

  5. Pinch of salt

  1. Scald the tomatoes in boiling water and remove skin. Cut in halves.

  2. Press out the juice of the tomatoes.

  3. Add the sugar, salt, and lemon juice and meat to the tomato juice.

  4. Cook quickly until thick with sugar.

  5. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
