  1. 8 c Cake Flour 

  2. 6 c Sugar

  3. 1/4 c Baking Powder 

  4. 1/2 ts Salt

  5. 1/2 c Vegetable Shortening

  1. In a large bowl, sift together cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

  2. Mix well With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until the mixture is as fine as cornmeal. Put in a large airtight container. Label as Basic Cake Mix and store in a cool dry place. Use with 10 to 12 weeks.
