  1. 1 9 inch baked pie shell

  2. 1 1/2 quarts fresh strawberries (or raspberries)

  3. 12 ounce package frozen sliced strawberries (or raspberries)

  4. 1/2 cup water

  5. 1 cup sugar

  6. 3 tablespoons cornstarch

  7. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  8. 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Wash and hull one quart strawberries. Drain well and place in baked pie crust. Cook frozen sliced strawberries with water, sugar, salt and cornstarch. Stir and cook over a low heat in a saucepan until mixture is thickened. Add one tablespoon butter. Cool slightly and pour over fresh strawberries in a baked pie shell. Place pie in refrigerator. Allow this to set about 3 hours before serving. Serve, topped with whipped cream.
