  1. 177.44 ml unsweetened cocoa powder

  2. 2.46 ml baking soda

  3. 158 1/21 ml butter or 158 1/21 ml margarine , melted and divided

  4. 118 1/59 ml boiling water

  5. 473.18 ml sugar

  6. 2 large eggs

  7. 314 2/3 ml all-purpose flour

  8. 4.92 ml vanilla extract

  9. 1 1/53 ml salt

  10. 236 1/29 ml chocolate-covered raisins

  11. 236 1/29 ml chocolate-covered nuts

  1. Heat oven to 350°.

  2. Grease a 13x9 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

  3. In large bowl, using a wooden spoon, stir together cocoa, powder and baking soda.

  4. Blend in 1/3 cup of the melted butter.

  5. Add boiling water and stir until mixture thickens.

  6. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup of the melted butter.

  7. Add flour, vanilla and salt, blend well.

  8. Stir in chocolate-covered raisins and nuts.

  9. Spread batter evenly in pan.

  10. Bake 35-40 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.

  11. Transfer pan to wire rack and cool completely.

  12. Cut into 32 bars.
