  2. 1 egg, beaten

  3. 1 cup granulated sugar

  4. 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  5. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  6. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  7. 1/2 cup oil

  8. 1 cup water

  9. 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  10. 1 teaspoon nutmeg

  11. 1 teaspoon allspice

  12. 1/2 teaspoon cloves, ground

  13. 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and mix well.

  3. Pour into a buttered 9 x 12 inch pan.

  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until firm in the middle.

  5. Cool on a rack before cutting.
