  6. 1/3 c (heaping) Pinto beans

  7. 1/3 c (heaping) Great Northern

  8. 1/3 c (heaping) Red beans

  9. 1/8 c (heaping) Kidney beans

  10. 1/8 c Small white beans

  11. 1 tb Black beans

  12. 1/4 c (scant) Garbanzo beans

  13. 1 tb Blackeye peas

  14. 2 tb Split peas

  15. 1/3 c Lentils

  16. 2 cups for each recipe...Serves

  17. Experiment with combining your own favorite bean

  18. varieties.. mix them up!

  19. Place in large pan, cover with water, soak, rinse

  20. 2 qts. water and 1/2 lb. lean ham,

  21. cubed. Simmer slowly 2 1/2 hours.

  24. Tsp. chili powder; 1 clove garlic, chopped;

  25. salt/pepper to taste. Simmer another hour or until

  26. 1/2 cup red wine;
