  1. 1 cup tomato ketchup

  2. 1/2 cup water

  3. 1/3 cup chopped onion

  4. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  5. 3 tablespoons cider or white distilled vinegar

  6. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  7. 1 1/2 pounds ground beef

  8. 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats

  9. 1 cup evaporated milk

  10. 3 tablespoons chopped onions

  11. 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  12. 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  13. 10 hamburger buns

  1. Combine ketchup, water, chopped onion, sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan; simmer for 15 minutes.

  2. Combine ground beef, oats, evaporated milk, chopped onion, salt, and pepper; mix well. Shape into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Cook over medium heat in a large skillet until browned, turning once.

  3. Arrange the patties in a baking dish. Pour the ketchup mixture on top.

  4. Bake at 350 °F (175°C) for about 40 minutes. Serve with hamburger buns.
