  1. 1 package (17-1/2 ounces) peanut butter cookie mix

  2. 1/2 cup baking cocoa

  3. 2/3 cup chocolate syrup

  4. 1 egg

  5. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or peanuts FROSTING:

  6. 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

  7. 1/2 cup chocolate syrup

  8. 1/4 cup baking cocoa

  9. 1/4 cup butter, melted

  10. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a large bowl, combine cookie mix and cocoa. Beat in chocolate syrup, butter and egg; beat until combined. Stir in nuts. Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 28-32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the frosting ingredients; stir until smooth. Spread over brownies. Cut into squares. Yield: 2 dozen. Editor's Note: This recipe was tested with Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix.
