  1. 4 cups Flour

  2. cup Sugar

  3. teaspoon Baking soda

  4. 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast

  5. 1 1/2 cup Water

  6. 4 tablespoons Vegetable oil

  1. Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Pour water and oil into center of flour mixture. Mix thoroughly.

  2. Knead dough 15-20 minutes. Divide into 6 large balls. Roll each ball out into circles. Cut each circle into 4 triangles. Deep fry until brown.

  3. NOTES : Maandazis taste best when they are warm. They are served on any occasion, except as a dessert.
