  1. 1 pound(s) ground beef

  2. 1/2 pound(s) ground sausage

  3. 24 ounce(s) spagetti sauce like ragu

  4. 1 1/5 cup(s) water

  5. 1 3/4 cup(s) cottage cheese or ricotta

  6. 2 cup(s) mozzerarella/or monterey cheese

  7. 1/2 cup(s) grated parmesan cheese

  8. 2 large eggs

  9. 1/4 cup(s) chopped fresh parsley , optional

  10. 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt , optional

  11. 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper , optional

  12. 9 piece(s) uncooked whole wheat lasagna , uncooked

  1. Heat oven to 350 degree f. In 3-qt saucepan over medium high heat, brown meat, drain. Add spaghetti sauce and water, simmer about 10 minutes. Meanwhile in a medium bowl, stir together ricotta cheese, one-half mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsleyu, salt and pepper. Pour about 1 cup sauce in the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking dish. Arrange 3 pieces of UNCOOKED pasta pieces lengthwise over sauce: cover with 1 cup sauce, spread one half of the cheese filling over sauce. Repeat layers of lasagna, sauce and cheese filling. Top with layer of lasagna and remaining sauce; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil. Bake 45 minutes. Remove foil; bake additional 10 minutes or until hot and bubble. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Makes 12 servings.
