  1. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz Chopped onions

  2. 1/2 cup 55g / 1.9oz Chopped celery

  3. 2 Garlic - minced

  4. 1/4 cup 49g / 1.7oz Butter or margarine

  5. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz All-purpose flour

  6. 2 tablespoons 30ml Sugar

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  8. 1 teaspoon 5ml Dried basil

  9. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Pepper

  10. 4 cups 948ml Chicken broth

  11. Frozen green beans - 10

  12. 4 cups 250g / 8.8oz Cooked chicken - cubed

  13. Dumplings:

  14. 2 cups 474ml Buttermilk biscuit mix

  15. 2 teaspoons 10ml Dried basil

  16. 2/3 cup 157ml Milk

  1. In a large saucepan, saute onion, celery and garlic in butter until tender. Add flour, sugar, salt, basil, pepper and broth; bring to a boil.

  2. Cook and stir for 1 minute; reduce heat. Add peas and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in chicken. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. For dumplings, combine biscuit mix and basil in a bowl.

  3. Stir in milk with a fork until moistened. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto casserole (12 dumplings). Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 30 minutes. Cover and bake 10 minutes more or until dumplings are done.
