  1. 1 cup textured soy protein (see note)

  2. 1 cup water

  3. 1 pound ground turkey, chicken or beef

  4. 1 packet dry onion soup mix

  5. 1/4 cup dried onion flakes

  6. 2 cups fresh bread crumbs

  7. 1 teaspoon parsley flakes

  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, add water and textured soy protein. Let stand 10 minutes to absorb water.

  2. Combine rehydrated textured soy protein with remaining ingredients; mix well. Form mixture into patties. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Broil or grill to taste. Top with cheese or salsa.
