  3. 1 Tempeh, any variety - (10 to 12 oz) - finely crumbled

  4. 1/4 cup 36g / 1 1/3oz Finely-chopped green bell pepper

  5. 1 cup 237ml Thick tomato sauce

  6. 1 tablespoon 15ml Soy sauce

  7. 1 tablespoon 15ml Honey or maple syrup

  8. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Chili powder

  9. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Cumin

  10. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Garlic powder Whole wheat rolls or pita bread Shredded lettuce

  1. Recipe Instructions Heat the oil in a skillet and saute the onion until it is golden. Add the crumbled tempeh and green pepper and saute over moderate heat until the tempeh is lightly browned. Add the remaining ingredients (except the last 2), stir well, and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Serve hot on whole wheat rolls or in pita bread with shredded lettuce. This recipe yields 4 servings.
