  1. 4 cups fresh strawberries , sliced

  2. 1/4 cup sugar

  3. 2-1/3 cups all-purpose baking mix

  4. 1/2 cup milk

  5. 3 Tbsp. sugar

  6. 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine , melted

  7. 1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

  1. HEAT oven to 425°F.

  2. TOSS strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar.

  3. STIR baking mix, milk, 3 Tbsp. sugar and butter in large bowl until mixture forms soft dough. Drop into 6 mounds, 2 inches apart, on baking sheet.

  4. BAKE 10 to 12 min. or until golden brown. Cool slightly.

  5. SPLIT shortcakes; fill and top with strawberries and COOL WHIP.
