  1. 2 packages kielbasa sausage

  2. 2 large cans of tomato sauce

  3. 1 medium lemon with juice squeezed

  4. 1 cup white vinegar

  5. 2 cups of water

  6. 3 or 4 bay leaves broken in half

  7. Tabasco

  1. slice onion into small to medium sized pieces and saute in a pan on the stove. Add the lemon juice, bay leaves, vinegar, water, and about 5 or 6 shakes from the Tabasco. Add the tomato sauce and bring mixture to a boil.Cover with lid and let simmer for about 10 minutes. While this is cooking slice the kielbasa and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and pat with paper towel to remove fat. The slices should be about a centimeter thick. Add everything to a slow cooker and cook no more than 10 hours. Ingredients can and should be adjusted to taste over the course of cooking. Yield: serves 6 Notes: The measurements and cooking times are not exact and can be changed slightly and still have the same out come. This recipe will taste good within an hour or so of being in the crock pot but the longer it cooks the better it tastes. This recipe can be made the night before and refrigerated, if this is done the layer of fat will need to be skimmed from the top before heating. this recipe also freezes pretty well.
