  1. B lend butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add 1 cup sifted flour and salt; stir in milk. Pat evenly in lightly greased 9x9-inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 20 minutes or until light brown. Combine egg, remaining 1 cup brown sugar and vanilla; beat until thick and lemon colored. Add 2 Tbsp. flour and remaining ingredients; mix well. Spread over baked crust; bake for 20 minutes longer or until golden brown. Cool. Cut into squares .
