  1. + Directions : Freshly ground black pepper to taste 1. Cut asparagus on the diagonal into 1/2-inch pieces. Bring a pan of water to the boil, add the asparagus and time for 3 minutes. Drain, rinse with cold water and pat dry.

  2. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a frying pan. Add shallot and cook 1 minute; add ham, walnuts and sage, cook 4 minutes. Add asparagus and cook 1 minute.

  3. Cook pasta according to pkg directions. Drain.

  4. Toss pasta with the sauce. Add cheddar and pepper; toss and serve immediately. Menu suggestions: Garlic bread and green salad.
