  2. 8" pie shell

  3. 1/4 c Cold water

  4. 2 Egg yolks

  5. 1/2 c Granulated sugar

  6. 1/2 c Brown sugar, packed

  7. 1/4 c All-purpose flour

  8. 1/4 ts Salt

  9. 1 c Boiling water

  10. 1 tb Butter or 1/2 ts Vanilla extract

  11. 3 Or 4 ripe bananas

  12. 1/2 c Heavy cream -

  1. Early in day: In saucepan, mix cold water with egg yolks; stir in combined sugars, flour, and salt. Gradually add boiling water, stirring briskly. Cook, stirring, 3 to 5 min., or until smooth and thick. Add butter and vanilla; cool 5 min., stirring occasionally. Pour into baked pie shell. Refrigerate till serving time. To serve: Slice bananas over filling. Whip cream; spread over all.
