  1. 4 medium potatoes , peeled,if desired,and cut into chunks (about 2 pounds)

  2. 1 envelope ranch dressing mix

  3. 1/2 cup sour cream

  4. 1/2 cup milk

  5. 2 tablespoons margarine or 2 tablespoons butter , softened

  6. 2 slices bacon , crisp-cooked and crumbled or 2 tablespoons bacon bits

  1. In 3-quart saucepan, cover potatoes with water.

  2. Bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are very tender; drain.

  4. Return potatoes to saucepan; mash.

  5. Stir in remaining ingredients.
