  1. 2 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon

  2. 110g brown sugar

  3. 12 whole cloves

  4. 4 cinnamon sticks

  5. 475ml port (a sweet Portuguese wine)

  6. 475ml brandy

  1. My Mama's marvelous mulled wine 1) Combine all the ingredients, except the port and brandy, into a large copper or cast-iron pot (not aluminium). Simmer while stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10 mins. Add port and brandy. Heat for 30 secs. Pour all into a large heat-resistant bowl or leave it in the pot.
