  1. 4 pork loin chops or 4 rib chops

  2. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  3. 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  4. 2 medium onions , cut into 1/4-inch slices

  5. 1/2 cup dry white wine (I use the broth) or 1/2 cup chicken broth (I use the broth)

  6. 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

  7. 2 teaspoons sugar

  8. 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

  9. 1 teaspoon cornstarch

  10. 2 tablespoons cold water

  1. Trim fat from pork chops --

  2. Cook pork in 10" nonstick skillet over medium heat, turning once, until brown; drain --

  3. Arrange onions on pork --

  4. Mix wine, vinegar, sugar and cloves; pour over onions and pork --

  5. Heat to boiling; reduce heat --

  6. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until pork is tender --

  7. Remove pork and onions; keep warm --

  8. Skim any fat from the liquid in skillet --

  9. Mix cornstarch and water; gradually stir into liquid --

  10. Heat to boiling; stirring constantly --

  11. Boil and stir 1 minute --

  12. Serve sauce over pork and onions -- .
