  1. Leaf lettuce

  2. 4 Bacon - diced

  3. 1/4 cup 59ml Water

  4. Salt and pepper

  5. 1/4 cup 59ml Vinegar

  6. 1 teaspoon 5ml Shallots or onions - chopped

  7. 3 tablespoons 45ml Sugar

  1. Wash lettuce thoroughly, dry and cut coarsely. Add shallots or onions, sugar, salt and pepper.

  2. Fry bacon until golden brown. Dice it and add to the lettuce.

  3. Into 2 tbs hot bacon fat, add the vinegar and water and bring to a boil.

  4. Pour over lettuce, mix and serve.
