  1. 4 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  2. 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk

  3. 1 1/2 pounds semisweet baking chocolate, chopped

  4. 18 marshmallows

  5. 1 cup chopped pecans

  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  1. Combine sugar and evaporated milk in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in chocolate, marshmallows, pecans, vanilla and salt. Stir until melted and smooth; pour into a buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Cool before cutting into squares.
