  1. Creamed Peas and Onions

  2. Makes 4 servings

  3. 2 cup shelled peas or 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas

  4. 1 cup whole pearl onions or frozen sm. whole onions

  5. 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine

  6. 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

  7. 1/2 tsp. salt

  8. Dash white pepper

  9. 1 cup milk

  10. Grated Parmesan cheese

  11. In a covered saucepan cook fresh peas and pearl or frozen onions

  12. 10 minutes.

  13. 5 minutes.

  14. peas and onions well. Meanwhile, melt butter or margarine in

  15. saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and white pepper.

  16. Add milk all at once, cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.

  17. Pour over hot vegetables; stir to coat vegetables. Serve in sauce

  18. dishes. Pass Parmesan cheese.
