  1. 3 or more slices of bacon, fried and cooked (save 2 Tbs. of fat) onion 5 potatoes cut small 2 carrots-diced 2 stalks of celery-diced 2 cans of cream of potato soup 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or colby) 3 cups of cooked wild rice My add ins: Ham...just an add in, I always have ham in the freezer to use... Thyme...to taste Garlic...as much as you like Broccoli...chopped to add some color(plus I love it) Mushrooms...optional, a few chopped ..

  1. Put these items together in a saucepan ..the onion, potatoes, carrots, celery, broccoli, mushrooms...I add the broccoli a little later to the water. COVER just barely with salted water and simmer until done...add bacon and grease.(grease is optional) When done add: 2 cans of cream of potato soup 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or colby 2-3 cups of cooked wild rice add the ham and the thyme, garlic and other other seasonings you like..let simmer a little longer. I like to mash SOME of the vegetables after they cook but you don't have to...it makes it thicker...if too thick add some water sparingly...
