  6. 1/2 ts Salt

  7. 2 ts Soda

  8. 1/2 ts Cloves

  9. 1/2 ts Ginger

  10. 1 ts Cinnamon

  11. 3/4 c Shortening

  12. 1 Egg; unbeaten

  13. 1/4 c Molasses

  14. Sift together all the dry ingredients. Cream shortening, egg and molasses.

  15. Add dry ingredients. Shape dough into balls, roll in sugar and bake 15
