  1. 1 tablespoon 15ml Butter or margarine

  2. 1 tablespoon 15ml Flour

  3. 1 cup 237ml Milk

  4. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Paprika

  6. 3/4 cup 109g / 3.8oz Cheddar cheese - shredded

  7. 3 cups 711ml Assorted vegetables -see note

  1. Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Add flour and cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently with small whisk. Slowly add milk, whisking until smooth. Stir in salt and paprika and cook 5 minutes. stir in cheese until melted and smooth. Transfer sauce to a small bowl. Serve with the vegetable art.

  2. Let children use colored toothpicks to create sculpture with the assorted vegetables. Use sauce to dip vegetables in to eat.

  3. NOTES : Use a combination of baby carrots, celery sticks, cucumber slices, sugar snap peas, broccoli stems, zucchini and yellow squash slices and bell pepper cubes.
