  1. 1 15 ounce can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), rinsed and drained.

  2. 1/2 cup chopped bottled roasted red sweet pepper s

  3. 1/3 cup tahini

  4. 3 t lemon juice

  5. 4 cloves garlic

  6. 1/2 to 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce

  7. 1 teaspoon cumin

  8. 1/4 t salt

  9. 1/8 t pepper

  10. 1/8 t paprika

  11. 1 T fresh cilantro or parsley

  12. Serve with pita bread wedges; pita crisps; bagel chips; crackers; carrot sticks.

  1. Reserve about 1 T garbanzo beans for garnish. In a food processor or blender, combine the above ingredients. Cover and process or blend until the dip mixture is smooth. To serve, spoon the dip into a serving bowl. Sprinkle with paprika and cilantro. Top with reserved beans.
