  1. Filling

  2. 1 lb. lean ground beef

  3. 1 onion chopped

  4. 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs

  5. 1/4 c. pine nut s

  6. 1/4 c. currant s

  7. 2 T. grated parmesan

  8. 1 egg

  9. 1/2 c. water

  10. salt and pepper

  11. Tomato Sauce

  12. 1 onion

  13. 2 cloves garlic

  14. 1 large can crushed tomato es

  15. 2 small cans tomato paste

  16. 1/4 c. parsley

  17. 2 T. fresh basil

  18. 2 bay leaves

  19. 1/4 t. baking soda

  20. salt and pepper to taste

  21. Pasta shells cooked al dente

  1. Filling Saute meat and drain. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft. Move to a bowl, add remaining ingredients, and mix thoroughly. Fill into al dente shells, place open side down. Spoon with Tomato Sauce and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

  2. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

  3. Sauce Saute onion and garlic. Add remaining ingredients and 8 c. water. Cook until desired thickness.
