  2. CURRIED COCONUT SOUP

  6. 1 Sm. onion, chopped (1/4 cup)

  7. 1 t Curry powder

  8. 1/4 c Water

  9. 3 c Milk

  10. 1 c Flaked coconut

  11. 2 Whole cloves

  12. 1/2 ts Salt

  13. 2 Beaten egg yolks

  14. Toasted coconut

  15. In 2-quart saucepan cook onion and curry powder in

  16. water till onion is tender. Stir in milk, coconut,

  17. cloves, and salt. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.

  18. Strain mixture through a sieve.Stir about 1 cup of the

  19. hot milk mixture into the egg yolks. Return to

  20. remaining milk mixture in saucepan. Cook and stir

  21. about 2 minutes or till mixture thickens slightly.

  22. Remove from heat; cover and chill. Garnish each 4 to
