  2. Filling:

  3. 4 cups peeled, cored and thinly sliced Granny Smith or other tart apples

  4. 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  5. 3 tbsp. sugar

  6. Topping:

  7. 1/3 cup all purpose flour

  8. 1 cup rolled oats

  9. 1/2 cup dark brown sugar

  10. 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

  11. 1/4 tsp. salt

  12. 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled

  1. For Filling:

  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter the inside of a 9 inch square baking pan. Combine the apple slices, lemon juice and sugar in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat apples. Transfer the apples to the prepared pan.

  3. For Topping:

  4. Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in the melted butter until well combined. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the filling. Bake crisp about 30 minutes until apples are tender. Serve warm.
