  2. 1 cup butter or margarine softened

  3. 1 cup sugar

  4. 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

  5. 2 large eggs lightly beaten

  6. 2 tablespoons water

  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  8. 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  9. 2 teaspoons baking powder

  10. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  11. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  12. Decorator sugar crystals

  1. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy; graduallyadd sugars, beating well. Add eggs, water and vanilla; beat until blended.

  2. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; gradually add to butter mixture,beating at low speed until blended. Shape dough into a ball; cover andchill 30 minutes. Turn dough out onto a well-floured surface. Roll to1/8-inch thickness. Cut with 3-inch round cutters. Place on a lightlygreased baking sheet; sprinkle with sugar crystals. Bake at 350 degrees for5 to 7 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
