  1. 1 cup 237ml Toovar dhal*

  2. 2 Tomatoes - chopped

  3. 10 Green chiles - (to 12), chopped

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Asafetida Salt - to taste For Seasoning

  5. 2 tablespoons 30ml Oil

  6. 1 teaspoon 5ml Mustard seeds

  7. 1 section Curry leaves

  8. 2 Red chiles - broken

  1. Recipe Instructions * wash and soak dhal in water for 1/2 to 1 hour Cook the dhal in 3 to 4 cups water until soft. Mix it well and add chopped tomatoes, green chiles, asafetida, salt to taste and boil until cooked. Season with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chiles.
