  1. 2 sticks butter

  2. 1/2 c. vegetable shortening

  3. 1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar

  4. 1 c. white sugar

  5. 5 eggs

  6. 1 c. sweet milk

  7. 1-2 tsp. vanilla

  8. 1-2 tsp. butter flavoring

  9. 3 c. plain flour

  10. 1 tsp. baking powder

  11. 1 c. chopped pecans

  1. Cream butter, sugar and shortening. Add one egg at a time, beating after each addition. Add flour and milk alternately. Mix well. Add baking powder and nuts. Mix well.

  2. Turn into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until the cake tests done. Cool.
