  1. 1/2 c Cracked wheat

  2. 1 1/2 c Boiling water

  3. 1 pk Dry yeast

  4. 1/3 c Warm water

  5. 1/4 c Shortening

  6. 1 1/2 ts Salt

  7. 2 tb Molasses

  8. 2 tb Honey

  9. 1 c Warm water

  10. 1 c Wholewheat flour

  11. 4 c All-purpose flour

  12. 10 minutes, till all the water is absorbed. Dissolve yeast in

  13. 1/3 c of warm water & let proof. Stir together shortening, salt, molasses, honey & the rest of the water & add to cracked wheat. Stir in the flours a little at a time. When the dough is stiff, turn out onto a floured board & knead for 10 minutes, use extra flour if necessary. Shape into a ball, place in oiled bowl, cover & let rise till doubled. Punch down & shape into 2 loaves. Let rise till doubled. Bake at
