  2. 1/2 small onion, peeled and halved

  3. 1 large clove garlic, peeled and chopped

  4. 1/2 cup chili sauce

  5. 2 large canned chipotle chilies in adobo, chopped

  6. 2 tbsp. peanut oil, divided

  7. 1 tbsp. fresh lime juice

  8. 1 tbsp. dark brown sugar

  9. 1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin

  10. 1/8 tsp. salt

  11. 1 1/2 pounds flank steak

  1. Combine onion and garlic in a food processor. Blend until minced. Add chili sauce, chipotles, 1 tbsp. peanut oil, lime juice, sugar, cumin and salt. Process until smooth. Transfer to a 13x9 inch baking dish. Place steak in the dish and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.

  2. Heat remaining tablespoon of peanut oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add beef with marinade to skillet. Cook about 8 minutes, turning several times, for medium rare. Transfer steak to a cutting board and thinly slice. Drizzle with marinade from skillet and serve.
