  1. 8 Green Thai Chili Peppers

  2. 6 Cloves Garlic

  3. 2 tb Shrimp Paste

  4. 1/4 c Fish Sauce (Nam Pla)

  5. 1/3 c Lime Juice

  6. 3 tb Palm Sugar

  7. 10 Whole Large Dried Shrimp

  8. Or Prawns, Rinsed In Warm

  9. Water

  10. VEGETABLES -- Snake Beans Or Long String

  11. Beans

  12. Green Onions/Scallions Or Spring Onions

  13. Tomatoes

  14. Broccoli

  15. Sugar Peas/Snow Peas

  1. Place the chilies, garlic and shrimp paste in a mortar and mash with a pestle until the garlic is crushed and combined with the other ingredients.

  2. Add the fish sauce, lime juice and sugar; gently mash together.

  3. Alternatively, use a blender.

  4. Add the whole dried shrimp and combine.

  5. Remove to a serving bowl and allow the shrimp to soak in the sauce for about 15 minutes.

  6. Serve as a dip for the raw or steamed vegetables.
