  6. 4 Macintosh apples, peeled

  7. Cored and sliced or cubed

  8. 2 ts Cinnamon

  9. 5 tb Sugar

  10. 3 c Flour; sifted

  11. 2 c Sugar; separated

  12. 1 c Vegetable oil

  13. 4 Eggs

  14. 1/4 c Orange juice

  15. 3 ts Baking powder

  16. 2 1/2 ts Vanilla

  17. 1 ts Salt

  18. 1 c Chopped walnuts

  19. 5 tablespoons sugar and sprinkle over apples; set aside. Combine and beat remaining ingredients

  20. (except walnuts) in large bowl until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Pour 1/2

  21. 10-inch tube pan. Arrange

  22. 1/2 of apple mixture

  23. over it. Pour in the rest of batter and arrange the rest of the apples on

  24. 1 1/2 hours. Allow cake to cool in an

  25. upright position. May be frozen for future use.
